Media Preparation & Sterilization

* Prepare tissue culture media according to SOPs and crop-specific protocols.
* Accurately weigh and dispense macro nutrients, micro nutrients, vitamins, sugars, agar, gelling agents, and plant growth regulators.
* Monitor pH adjustment, media consistency, and gel strength.
* Operate autoclaves, media dispensers, water purification systems, and laboratory equipment.
* Ensure complete dissolution of chemicals and proper heating procedures before sterilization.
* Maintain sterility throughout the media preparation process.

Media Optimization & Troubleshooting

* Understand the effect of nutrients, hormones, and gelling agents on culture performance.
* Assist in optimizing media for multiplication, rooting, elongation, and hardening stages.
* Identify causes of poor culture growth, contamination, vitrification, browning, weak rooting, or low multiplication rates.
